HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's tennis team will travel to Sumter, S.C. on Friday (Apr. 19) for the Quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas women's tennis tournament. The Cobras, the No. 8 seed, will face the No. 1 seed Erskine College.
The women are led by the freshmen duo of Daniela Chipe and Jessi Campos. Chipe has been the top performer for the Cobras this season, earning an 11-9 overall record at No. 1 singles. Against conference competition she is 8-3. Campos has split time between the No. 2 and the No. 3 singles spot with an overall record of 9-8. She is 6-4 against conference teams. Rounding out the field for the Cobras will be Anna Musiyenko at No. 3, Brittanny Yando at No. 4, Faith Baxley at No. 5 and Rachel Solomon at No. 6.
The Erskine College Flying Fleet enters the match as the only undefeated team in the conference at 10-0. The Fleet are led by Corin Hallman at No. 1 singles and her 10-0 conference record; she is 17-3 overall.
The quarterfinal match is set to begin at noon at the Palmetto Tennis Center. The winner will advance to play in the semifinal match on Saturday (Apr. 20) at noon against the winner of the match between the No. 4 seed Pfeiffer and the No. 5 seed Mount Olive.
