Trojans Down Cobras 82-65

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Craig Hayes led four players in double figures with 22 points and helped spark a 19-2 run to give Mount Olive the lead for good as the regionally fifth-ranked Trojans defeated Coker 82-65 in Conference Carolinas men’s basketball Monday at Kornegay Arena. Mike Holloman added 21 points and Kendrick Easley scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half to lead the Trojans to their 12th win in their last 13 games.

Tennis (W):

Lady Cobras Fall to North Greenville 6-3

TIGERVILLE, S.C.- Coker’s Alyssa Blanchard (Columbia, S.C.)was 2-0 on the day winning both her singles and doubles matches, but it was not enough to lead the Lady Cobras to victory, as they lost to North Greenville in a non-conference tennis match 6-3 on Monday afternoon.

Golf (M):

Cobras Move to Seventh in Second Round of Golfweek Invitational

REUNION, Fla. – Three of the five Coker golfers shot 73 (+1) in Monday’s second round of the Golfweek Division II Invitational at the Independence Golf Course in Reunion, Fla. On the day, the Cobras shot a team score of 293 (+5), the second lowest team score of the day, giving them a two day total of 599 (+23). With their much improved play, the Cobras are just 10 strokes back of the leader, Nova Southeastern 589 (+13), with one round left still left to play on Tuesday.

Baseball (JV):

JV Baseball Falls to Newberry 7-5

NEWBERRY, S.C. – In their inaugural game, the Coker College JV Baseball team lost to the Newberry College JV team 7-5. First year head coach Kyle Rayl and the JV Cobras scored three runs in the sixth and a pair of runs in the ninth, but were unable to pick up the win.
