HICKORY, N.C. - The Coker women's tennis team picked up its fourth victory in the last five matches on Saturday (Mar. 9) with a 6-3 win over Lenoir-Rhyne. With the win the Cobras improve to 5-4 overall.
The Cobras picked up a pair of victories in doubles play, winning at No. 1 and No. 2. Daniela Chipe and Anna Musiyenko earned a 8-6 win at the No. 1 spot, while Jessi Campos and Casey Altman shutout their opponent at No. 2, 8-0.
Chipe picked up her second victory of the day with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, while Campos was also victorious in singles action, winning 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3. Brittanny Yando got the win at No. 4, winning 6-2, 6-1 and Altman earned the Cobras final win at No. 6 with a three-set victory, 2-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Coker will be back on courts in a Conference Carolinas match against Pfeiffer University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
