Hartsville, SC- The Lady Cobra tennis team battled well at many positions against the 38th ranked Limestone Saints, but still fell by an 8-1 margin on their home courts on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles, the Saints won comfortably at the No. 2 and 3 but had to fight til the end to pick up the point at the No. 1 position.  Rachel Lemar (London, England) and Ill Smith (Concord, NC) put together one of their best  outings of the season but came up on the losing end of a match tie-breaker as they fell 9-8 (5) to a talented twosome of Limestone.

In singles, the Saints sealed the deal by adding wins at five out of six positions, however they didn’t come easy.  Ashley Pace (Clinton, SC) played well at the No. 5 position but came up short falling by a score of 6-4, 6-3.  The most entertaining match of the day came on the No. 1 court as Lemar out battled Jen Snaider to win in a 3rd set match tie-breaker by a score of 5-7, 6-3, (10-8).  The match lasted nearly 2 and half hours.

The Lady Cobras return to the courts tomorrow at they travel to take on the Pacers of USC Aiken at 2:00P.M.
