Charlotte, NC- The Lady Cobras played away today at Queens University in Charlotte North Carolina. The Cobras took two of the doubles matches to take control of the match. Andrea Santos and Ashley Pace rallied to an 8-6 victory at number two singles. The Cobras also took number three doubles due to insufficient players for Queens.


The singles saw some early victories at the top of the line up for Queens as they went ahead 4-3 with two matches remaining on court. Ashley Pace played great tennis at number five singles and quickly made the match level at 4-4. The deciding match saw Jill Smith for the Cobras taking on Stilman from Queens. Smith took the first set comfortably 6-2 however Stilman took the second 6-3. It all went down to a deciding set to decide to the match. Smith came out strong in the final set holding serve and finally broke at two games all. They ten traded games and Smith played great tennis from the baseline to close out the match 6-4 and win it for the Cobras.


The Cobras now move to 7-6 for the season and 3-2 in conference play. The Lady Cobras play again tomorrow at home against UNC Pembroke.
