Laurinburg, NC- Today was an important day for the women’s tennis team as they traveled to Laurinburg North Carolina to take on Saint Andrew Presbyterian College in a conference match.

The match started well for the Cobras as they came out strong in all three of the doubles matches. The first win came from the very reliable pair of Konopa and Schaum who cruised to an 8-0 win. Second to come in with a win for Coker were Davis and Spencer who broke serve early and continued to play great tennis to earn an 8-2 victory. Santos and Smith took the longest to wrap up the third and final doubles but came through comfortably 8-4.

Andrea Santos opened up proceedings in the singles and wasted no time as she won the first set 6-0. Santos used her aggressive play towards the net to race through the first set. The second followed a similar pattern with Santos only dropping one game winning that set 6-1. Cassidy Spencer soon ended the match when she won her singles very easily 6-1, 6-0.

Neely Davis again continued her good run of form with a straight forward 6-0, 6-1 victory. Saint Andrew did pull a couple of matches back at four and six singles however the Lady Cobras picked up the victory they needed. This concludes all of the lady Cobras matches and they now have to prepare for the Conference tournament that is being held in Sumter, SC.
