Mackenzie Maples

Bio

Maples comes to Coker after a dual-sport playing career at College of Charleston, where she lettered in softball and track and field. In her four years on the softball field for the Cougars, Maples collected numerous accolades.

She was named to the Southern Conference all-freshman team and won a share of the Rookie of the Year Award. She was named SoCon Player of the Week twice in her playing career, her .991 fielding percentage behind the plate ranks tenth all-time at College of Charleston and was named defensive player of the year her senior season by her teammates. In all, Maples was apart of 138 wins, while earning 209 starts. 

Maples also spent a fifth year in the Lowcountry, earning her graduate degree and throwing javelin for the College of Charleston track and field team. In three meets, she recorded a fourth place showing at the Lowcountry Collegiate Invitational and a fifth place finish at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. 

A native of Corona, California, Maples currently resides in Hartsville, S.C. She holds a bachelor's degree in exercise science as well as a master's degree in business administration, both from the College of Charleston.

She is the daughter of Elizabeth Boncal and Duke Maples and Jonell Maples and Walter Boncal... she has two younger brothers Hudson and Camden.
