Coker College Softball Signs Phillips

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College softball coach David Hanna announced today that Lauren Phillips has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Cobras.

Phillips, a pitcher, is transferring from the University of South Carolina at Sumter, where she posted a 10-8 record with a 1.37 ERA, 108 strikeouts and 26 walks in 143 innings.

“We are expecting Lauren to come in and help us with pitching right away,” said Hanna. “We’ve played against her a couple times, and she’s tough. We’re looking forward to having her on our side.”

Phillips is originally from West Columbia, S.C., where she attended Airport High School and lettered in softball and volleyball. She is the daughter of Fred and Kim Phillips.
