HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's tennis player James Corfield has been named to the Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference team, the league office announced today.
Corfield is a junior communication major from Aukland, New Zealand. On the court this season he has compiled a 15-2 overall record, including a perfect 9-0 in conference, to go along with a 13-4 mark in doubles with freshman partner Martin Moncayo.
Corfield is the son of Gary and Lorraine Corfield.
The Coker men's tennis team is 9-0 in conference play and sitting in first place. It is 14-4 overall. The Cobras return to the courts Thursday to host Mount Olive in a conference match.
Conference Carolinas academic all-conference teams are awarded to junior and senior student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution that have played in a conference-sponsored sport. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athletes' cumulative GPA through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year.
