USC Aiken Tops Coker 8-1

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobra tandem of James Corfield (New Zealand) and Guillermo Aylon (Spain) earned an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles, but the Coker men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to USC Aiken on Sunday.

Even though they picked up only one victory they had several close matches including a hard fought three set match at No. 2 singles, where Corfield lost 6-2, 2-6, 10-4. There were also a pair of matches that were forced into tiebreakers in order to determine a winner at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

The Cobras will be back to action on Saturday in Charlotte, N.C. against Johnson C. Smith University at 1 p.m.
