Cobras Finish Third at Barton Intercollegiate

WILSON, N.C. – The Coker Cobra golf team captured a third place finish at the 37th Annual Barton Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) led the way with a fourth place finish overall. The senior fired a two-under par 142 in the two round event at the Wilson Country Club.

Barton College's "A" team earned the team championship, followed by the Bulldog "B" team in second. Mount Olive College placed fourth and Queens University of Charlotte came in fifth.

Junior Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) finished in a tie for ninth after carding a plus-three 75 in the second round, while Christopher Fuga (Phoenixville, Pa.) shot a two-over-par 74. Luke Coates (Florence, S.C.) carded an 81 (+9) and Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) shot a plus-four 76.

The Cobra golf team will return to the links on March 26-27 when they travel to Greenwood, S.C. for the Bearcat Invitational hosted by Lander University.
