KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker men’s golf team finished in fourth place at the Seventh Annual Kiawah Island Invitational hosted by USC-Aiken. The Cobras finished with a two round total of 595 (+19) behind tournament champion Barton College (582, +6), USC-Beaufort (584, +8) and Georgia College and State University (585, +9) at the 6,875-yard, par 72 Cougar Point Golf Course.
Leading the Cobras individually was freshman Matt Kreider (Westlake, Ohio) in his first collegiate tournament, shooting 147 (+3) over the course of the tournament. Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J) followed with a 149 (+5), while Ben Conroy (Durham, Conn.) shot a two round total of 150 (+6). John LaDow (Pottstown, Pa.) and Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) rounded out the field for the Cobras with scores of 154 (+10) and 155 (+11) respectively.
The Cobras will return to the links on September 20-21 for the State Farm-Lake Invitational in Hampton, Ga.
