WILSON, N.C. – Tom Wright (Sydney, Australia) and Vatrick Thompson (Columbia, S.C.) combined for 23 of Coker’s 52 points in the Cobras 59-52 loss to the Barton College Bulldogs on Thursday night in Conference Carolinas men’s basketball action.

The Cobras outshot the Bulldogs 43.8 percent (21 of-48) to 30.9 percent (17-of-55) from the field and 31.9 percent (5-of-16) to 15.4 percent (2-of-13) from three-point range, but the Bulldogs outshot Coker from the charity stripe 69.7 percent (23-of-33) to 45.5 percent (5-of-11).

Coker led nearly the entire first half, but a late run in the final minute of the half gave Barton 23-20 lead at the break. The second half was much of the same, with Coker leading for over 10 minutes of the half, but with six minutes remaining Barton took the lead for good.

Wright led the Cobras with 12 points, while Thompson had 11 points and five rebounds. Delonte Doles (Roswell, Ga.) added eight points with 10 rebounds and Liam Kyle (Cleveland, Ohio) had six points and eight rebounds.

L.J. Dunn led the Bulldogs with 24 points and 18 rebounds, while Gerald Boston had 11 points.

Coker returns action on Saturday, when the Cobras travel to Mount Olive to face the Trojans at 7:30 p.m.
