WILMINGTON, N.C.  – The Coker College men’s basketball team opened their basketball season on Saturday night with an exhibition game against division I UNC-Wilmington. The Cobras lost the game 54-43, with junior Delonte Doles (Roswell, Ga.) leading the way with 14 points.

Coker held advantages in steals (10) and assists (8) over the Seahawks, while shooting 31.1 percent from the field and just 38.5 percent from the charity stripe.

Doles added five assists to his 14 points, while Joselle Bracy (Ruby, S.C.) had eight points. Jonathon Gardner (Florence, S.C.) and Tom Wright (Sydney, Australia) each had six points, with Gardner pulling down four rebounds and Wright had two. Liam Kyle (Cleveland, Ohio) added a team high five rebounds with four points in the game.

The Cobras will now prepare for their first regular season game of the season on Wednesday, November 17, at home against Morris College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
