Hartsville, SC- Coker Head Men’s Basketball Coach Dan Schmotzer, along with the Coker Basketball Team honored former player, Shane McAloon, prior to their game against Limestone College on Tuesday, November 29.

 

McAloon played four years of basketball at Coker for Schmotzer from 1993 to 1997, and after graduation was a basketball coach at Hartsville Junior High and Chapin High School. Shane also served as a U.S. Army Ranger.

 

McAloon suddenly passed away on July 19, 2005. On Tuesday night, Shane’s family and friends were on hand at Coker to honor his memory and to be presented with his Coker Jersey. His number 40 jersey will be hung in Coker’s Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium in his honor.
