Robert Skinner joined the Coker staff in July of 2012.
Working primarily with the hitters and infielders, Skinner helped lead the Cobras to their first ever NCAA DII Baseball National Championship appearannce. As a team Coker batted .309, with 293 runs batted in, 354 runs scored and 114 extra base hits. First baseman Fico Kondla and designated hitter Zach Loraine were named first and second team all-conference, respectively, and they were both named to the NCBWA all-region second team.
Skinner came to Coker after serving as the assistant coach at Florence-Darlington Technical College in charge of infielders and hitters during the 2012 season. He helped guide the Stingers to a Region X Championship and a program best 44-12 record.
A native of Hartsville, Skinner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Lander University in 2011. While at Lander he was a four-year member of the Bearcat baseball team, earning Peach Belt All-Confernece honors in 2010. He was also the recipient of the 2010 Southeast All-Region Gold Glove Award for third base.
He was a three-time Peach Belt Conference Honor Roll selection and was a member of the President's List at Lander for five semesters.
