Hartsville, S.C. – Coker College Head Baseball Coach, Dave Schmotzer, announced the signing of Thomas Peterson to a National Letter of Intent to play baseball for the Cobras in 2008-09.

Peterson is a native of Columbia, S.C., where he was a three year starter for the Dutch Fork High School baseball team in the outfield. As a senior Peterson was the team leader in home runs and RBIs. In addition to playing for Dutch Fork, Thomas was also a three year starter for the Irmo/Chapin Post 174 American Legion team.

Peterson is looking to help return the Coker Baseball team to its former glory. This season the Cobras finished with a 19-31 record, including win a 10-9 victory over nationally ranked #1 Mount Olive College on March 29, 2008.
