Hartsville, SC- The Cobras improved their record to .500 with a 21-3 win over Benedict College in a non-conference match-up Tuesday afternoon. The win brings the Cobras record to an even 2-2.

The Cobras got their offense going early and often scoring 21 runs on 16 hits. The Cobras were also able to take advantage of 11 Tiger errors.

Coker’s Brad Boob (Matthews, NC) (1-1) earned the win, allowing one run on two hits, with two strike outs in two innings of work.

Benedict’s Justin Chapman took the loss, allowing six runs on three hits in three innings of work.

Leading Coker at the plate was Trey Lynch (Florence, SC) going 3-for-4 with a double, and three RBIs, while BK Harfst (Arvada, CO) was 3-for-5 with double, five runs scored and an RBI. Bryant Smith (Florence, SC) was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles off the bench for Coker.

For Benedict, Alexander Harvey was 2-for-4 with a pair of triples and Kyle Moody was 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI.

Coker returns to the field on Thursday, as they travel to Francis Marion University for the Swamp Fox Classic. The Cobras play Francis Marion in their first game of the tournament at 3:00 p.m.
