HARTSVILLE, SC — Coker moved back into the win column Tuesday afternoon with a 19-4 win over St. Augustine’s in collegiate baseball.  The Cobras had 11 hits, drew 16 walks and were hit by five pitches to keep the bases occupied for much of the game.

Coker (3-5) used five hits in the first inning to put eight runs on the board but fell silent in the next four stanzas.  The Falcons got one run back in the third and a two-run triple in the fifth led to a four-run outburst to put a little heat back on CC.

After getting another run in the sixth the Cobras broke out for six more runs in the seventh and four in the eighth to complete the scoring.  Three walks loaded the bases in the seventh and the first run scored when Stephen Jackson/Port Charlotte, FL was hit by a pitch to reach first.  Ben Kershner/Wellington, CO and Carlton Deese/Pageland, SC followed with a pair of two-RBI singles.

Junior Stephen Dill/Florence, SC pitched seven innings to get the win before being replaced by Larry Morris/Chesapeake City, MD.  Morris went two innings with one hit and two strikeouts and Blake Miller/Greenwood, SC pitched a 1-2-3 ninth.
