Women’s Basketball Lands Lawrence
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College women’s basketball coach Jenny Finora announced today that Angie Lawrence has agreed to play for the Cobras.
Lawrence, a 5-foot-5-inch point guard, is transferring from Georgetown College in Kentucky. As a freshman, Lawrence played in 20 games for the Tigers, averaging 6.5 points and just under two assists per game. Georgetown made it to the NAIA Division I women's national championship, where Lawrence was named first team all-tournament.
“Angie will make an immediate impact on our program,” said Finora. “She brings experience, scoring and knowledge to our team. Her basketball IQ is very high, and she is constantly working to improve her skill set. We are very excited to get her here.”
Lawrence is originally from Brodhead, Ky., where she attended Rockcastle County High School and was a state champion her senior year. She is the daughter of Teddy and Marcy Lawrence.
