Conference Carolinas Honors 86 Coker College Student-Athletes

Eighty-six student-athletes were named to the Conference Carolinas Spring Presidential Honor Roll.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College had 86 student-athletes named to the 2012 Conference Carolinas Spring Presidential Honor Roll, the conference announced today.

“The dedication our student-athletes have shown in and out of the classroom has been tremendous,” Coker director of athletics Lynn Griffin said. “We firmly believe in the balance between academics and athletics, and these young men and women have bought in to our philosophy. I am proud of how they represent Coker College.”

A total of 1,516 student-athletes were recognized on the spring honor roll. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. Conference Carolinas presents its honor roll twice a year, covering the fall and spring academic semesters.

Conference Carolinas continues to emphasize “Academics and Athletics Working Together,” as each school strives to grow its presidential honor roll every year. The new honor roll identifies student-athletes who have earned a 3.20 grade-point average for the semester, which includes freshmen and transfer students. In previous years, the qualifications for the honor roll were based on a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Conference Carolinas is an NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 schools from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Coker College, Converse College, Erskine College, King College, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, Mount Olive College, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University and Queens University of Charlotte.
