Coker picked 9th in the Preseason Polls

Hartsville, S.C.: The South Atlantic Conference has released the preseason poll and players to watch list for the upcoming women's lacrosse season. Head Coach Jeff Faulkner is heading into his second season in charge of the Cobras with a new addition to his coaching staff, with assistant coach Chandler Werner joining the Ranks. The Cobras have been picked to come in 9th place this season in the preseason polls, with Coker beating out Emory & Henry and Mars Hill in the final count.

Players to Watch:

Kate Halcro-SO-Attack: Kate Halcro, a sophomore out of Calgary, Canada, is coming off a fantastic Freshman year season that saw her leading the team and conference in goals (56). Halcro has already put her name in the Coker Record book as she is 10th OVR in career points(62), and 8th in career goals(56).

Mia MacMillan-SR.-Attack: MacMillan is entering her senior season with the Cobras. MacMillan was a standout for the Cobras last season, leading the Cobras in assists(41) and points(77). MacMillan is bringing a ton of experience and talent to a young Coker Lacrosse team.

Olivia Schmidt-SO.-GK: Schmidt is looking to make a big impact on the defensive side of the game for the women's lacrosse team. Schmidt is a key returner for the Cobras in the cage, looking to continue her form from last season. Schmidt has already put her name in the record book as she is currently 4th in career saves (149) after only her freshman year.

Veronica Richardson-SO.-Defense: Richardson will be leading the defensive line for the Cobras this season. She had 38 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers in her freshman year.

Sydnee Schrauben-FR.-Defense: Schrauben is the only Freshman to be featured on the Player to Watch list for the Cobras. In her high school career, she collected numerous awards in lacrosse, with multiple regional championships and state championship appearances.
