Coker Heads to Championship Game with Victory over LMU
The 20th-ranked and third-seeded Coker women’s basketball team upset 13th-ranked and No. 2 seed Lincoln Memorial, 52-44, on Friday afternoon in the semifinal round of the SAC Tournament inside the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Cobras are heading back to the South Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship game.
The 20th-ranked and third-seeded Coker women's basketball team upset 13th-ranked and No. 2 seed Lincoln Memorial, 52-44, on Friday afternoon in the semifinal round of the SAC Tournament inside the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center.
Junior forward Kamari Thompson recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Cobras, while sophomore guard Yasmine Cook also added 11 points in the victory.
The win sends Coker to the SAC Tournament championship game for the second consecutive season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
LMU took control early, building a 13-4 lead, and the Railsplitters held a 14-6 advantage at the end of the opening quarter.
Coker battled back in the second quarter and retook the lead, 19-18, on a Yasmine Cook layup with 1:39 left before halftime. Ja'Kea Brunson knocked down a three-pointer moments later to push the Cobras ahead 22-18, and Cook added another layup following a steal to give Coker a 24-18 lead at the break.
Lincoln Memorial scored five of the first seven points of the second half to pull within one, 24-23, but Coker responded with the next six points, including a pair of baskets from Shawnteanna Tillman. The Railsplitters trimmed the deficit to as few as two points later in the game, but the Cobras maintained control and eventually stretched their lead to as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter.
