Coker Overcomes Late Deficit to Defeat Catawba

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Down by 10 with just over six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the 17th-ranked Coker women's basketball team mounted a late comeback to defeat visiting Catawba, 56-51, on Wednesday evening inside the DeLoach Center.

Shawnteanna Tillman entered the game needing six points to move into fifth place and eight points to climb into fourth on Coker's all-time scoring list. She finished with 26 points, bringing her career total to 1,222 and moving her into fourth place, just 36 points shy of third.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half after surrendering a 13-0 run to Catawba that spanned the first and second quarters. The Indians led 16-11 at the end of the opening quarter and held a 36-22 advantage at halftime.
Catawba led 44-33 at the end of the third quarter and went ahead 47-37 with 6:18 remaining. Coker responded by outscoring the Indians 23-7 in the fourth quarter, using a late 13-0 run to secure the victory.
