Coker Gets Past Wingate to End Skid

WINGATE, N.C. – The 18th-ranked Coker women's basketball team ended its two-game skid with a 68-52 South Atlantic Conference victory at Wingate on Wednesday night inside Cuddy Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker opened the contest on a 12–0 run and carried a commanding 24–5 advantage into the end of the first quarter. The Cobras continued to control the tempo in the second, outscoring Wingate 13–10 to take a 37–15 lead into halftime.
Wingate responded with a 15–2 surge in the third quarter to trim the deficit to 10, but Coker maintained its composure and led 49–38 at the end of the period. The Cobras closed the game with a 19–14 edge in the final 10 minutes to secure the 68–52 victory and snap their two-game losing streak.

Coker returns home to host Tusculum on Friday at 2 PM inside the DeLoach Center. The game was moved from Saturday due to the impending weather forecast. The game can be viewed on FloSports.
