Cobras Erase Double Digit Deficit to Remain Perfect in the SAC

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Trailing by as many as 11 points midway through the third quarter, the ninth-ranked Coker women's basketball team rallied for a 64-56 victory over Emory & Henry on Saturday afternoon inside the DeLoach Center.
The Cobras fell behind 40-29 with 5:45 remaining in the third quarter before methodically chipping away at the deficit. Coker took the lead for good early in the fourth quarter when senior guard Kristynn Knight drilled a three-pointer less than a minute into the period.
Senior guard Shawnteanna Tillman led all scorers with 26 points, pouring in 19 of those in the second half to fuel the Cobras' comeback.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Janay Legagneur's layup opened the scoring for Coker, and a Ja'Kea Brunson three-pointer gave the Cobras an early 5-2 advantage. Emory & Henry responded by chipping away, eventually taking a 17-14 lead at the end of a first quarter that featured five lead changes and two ties.
The Wasps continued their momentum in the second quarter, outscoring Coker 13-12 and carrying a 30-26 advantage into halftime after a last-second corner three-pointer.
Emory & Henry extended its lead to 40-29 with 5:45 remaining in the third quarter, but the Cobras answered with a decisive 15-0 run to erase the deficit. Coker seized the lead for good early in the fourth quarter and pushed its advantage to as many as 10 points late in the final period.
