Balanced Attack Leads #4 Cobras over Barton
Four players scored in double figures in the 74-52 home-opening victory.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The fourth-ranked Coker women's basketball team used a balanced attack to defeat visiting Barton 74-52 on Wednesday night inside the DeLoach Center.
Four Cobras cracked double figures in the scoring column led by senior Shawnteanna Tillman's game-high 16 followed by junior Kamari Thompson's 11 and 10 each from sophomore Yasmine Cook and grad student Janay Legagneur.
Prior to the game the 2024-25 South Atlantic Conference Champions and Elite Eight team were presented their rings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Barton led 4-3 early before a lay-up by Kamari Thompson gave Coker the lead, one they wouldn't surrender for the remainder of the game.
The Cobras closed the opening quarter with a 10-0 and led 17-6 when the first 10 minutes expired. Coker built a 26-8 lead with just over three minutes remaining in the opening half.
Coker owned a 32-16 advantage at the break.
The Cobras then led 55-36 at the end of the third.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Coker hits the road again when they travel to Fayetteville State. The Cobras and Broncos will tip off at 2 PM on Saturday inside the Felton J. Capel Arena for the non-conference showdown. The game can be viewed on the Broncos Sports Network.
