NEWBERRY, S.C. - Coker University Men's Soccer posted a 2-0 victory over Newberry College in conference action on Wednesday (Oct. 6)
The Cobras offense would stay in control for most of the first half, outshooting Newberry 13-2. The teams would go into halftime scoreless.
Coker would net its first goal of the game in the 80th minute from the foot of Markos Touroukis, putting the Cobras up 1-0. Coker would score their second goal of the match four minutes later when Jacques Fokam-Sandeu would find the back of the net, sending Coker up 2-0 and bringing the match to its final score.
Jasper Rump (8-2-0) picked up the win between the pipes, picking two saves in the match. Coker outshot Newberry in the match 27-7.
The Cobras (8-2) return to action Saturday (Oct. 9) when they host Mars Hill in conference action for Homecoming. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
