HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker University baseball delivered one of its most dramatic wins of the season on Friday night, as Matthew Lipcsey's two-out line drive single to center in the bottom of the ninth scored Peter Adams and Dimitri Sabino, lifting the Cobras to a 14-13 walk-off victory over Tusculum University at Tom J. New Field at Dave Schmotzer Stadium.
The win capped a thrilling come-from-behind effort and kept Coker's postseason hopes alive, as the Cobras remained in contention for the eighth and final spot in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament.

Coker banged out 16 hits that included multi-hit games from Luke Miller (3), Luke Alford (2), Matthew Lipcsey (2), Colton Penner (2), Peter Adams (2) and Dimitri Sabino (2).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Tusculum struck first with a 7-0 lead, scoring four runs in the second inning and three more in the third. Coker responded in the bottom of the third, plating five runs behind RBI hits from Matthew Lipcsey, Luke Miller, and Rocco Wojcik, along with a two-run single by Gavin Johnson.
The Pioneers answered with single runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to extend their lead, but Coker continued to battle. In the bottom of the seventh, Colton Penner delivered a bases-loaded single that, aided by an error, cleared the bases and trimmed the deficit to 9-8.
Tusculum regained control in the eighth with a pinch-hit two-run homer to go back in front 12-8. Coker, however, responded once again in the home half of the inning. Dimitri Sabino doubled home Peter Adams, Luke Alford crushed a two-run home run to right field, and Gavin Johnson added a sacrifice fly to score Matthew Lipcsey, tying the game at 12-12.
Tusculum broke the tie with a run in the top of the ninth, but Coker had one final answer. Peter Adams opened the inning with a single, followed by a Dimitri Sabino liner into left. After a deep flyout by Luke Alford moved Adams to third, Sabino swiped second to put two in scoring position. Matthew Lipcsey then lined a single up the middle, bringing home both runners and sealing a dramatic walk-off victory for the Cobras.

Coker and Tusculum square off in the final South Atlantic Conference doubleheader of the regular season on Saturday at Tom J. New Field at Dave Schmotzer Stadium. Game one is slated for Noon.
