HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Luke Alford drove in six runs, highlighted by a grand slam, but the Coker University baseball team came up short in an 11-9 loss to visiting Anderson in the series opener Friday night at Tom J. New Field at Dave Schmotzer Stadium.
Alford's grand slam—his sixth home run of the season—came in the fourth inning and gave the Cobras a 7-6 lead. The junior outfielder continued his big night at the plate in the eighth inning, delivering a two-run double to finish with a game-high six RBIs.
