The Coker cross country team partook in the 9/11 Day of Service on Saturday (Sept. 6).
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker cross country teams took part in the 9/11 Day of Service on Saturday (Sept. 6) at the 2nd Annual Kalmia Gardens 5K in Hartsville. The teams spent time at the finish line handing out water to runners as they finished and cleaning up Kalmia after the race.
"The whole purpose of the day is to give back," said sophomore Tre' Williams. "The time spent working the race means more than the actual work done. We do the day of service as a way to remember those in the fields that perform selfless acts for us, the community, everyday."
The Cobras continue their season on Saturday (Sept. 20) at the CIU Invitational.
