Coker Women Continue Strong Outdoor Season at High Point
HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Coker women's track & field team continued its strong outdoor campaign with multiple solid performances at High Point , led by improvements in the hurdles, relays and distance events.
"The women have consistently put together a great outdoor season led by Patience Lisbon in the 400mh," said head coach Eugene Galloway. "I know she wants that school record as that is the goal."
Patience Lisbon led the way on the track, finishing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.21.
The Cobras' 4x100-meter relay team showed significant improvement, posting a season-best time of 47.72 to finish ninth overall.
"Also our women in the 4x100m improved by a full second which puts them in the mix for a top-five ranking in the conference," Galloway added.
In field events, Massassi Maxwell-Smith recorded a personal-record mark of 10.54 meters (34-7) in the triple jump.
On the distance side, Alia Kempa Ibensadiken set a new program standard in the women's 10,000 meters, finishing with a time of 46:23.04.
"Congratulations to Alia for setting a new standard in the women's 10k," said Galloway.
Coker also saw Anna Luzzi compete in the javelin, recording a throw of 31.11 meters (102-0)
