Holton and Ingram Set School Records at Winthrop Opener
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Coker University women's track and field team completed competition at the Winthrop Opener on Saturday (Feb. 27). The Cobras had a strong showing setting two school records and several personal bests while competing against several division one programs.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Coker University women's track and field team completed competition at the Winthrop Opener on Saturday (Feb. 27). The Cobras had a strong showing setting two school records and several personal bests while competing against several division one programs.
Jada Holton broke her own record in the triple jump, with a mark of 11.59m to place second in the event. Holton would also place second in the high jump with a mark of 5'2.
Destiny Ingram set a school record in the 600m with a time of 1:42.98 to place second in the event
Nyasia Weatherly won the 100m and 200m for Coker with times of 12.43 seconds and 25.8 seconds. In the 100m finals, Zyasia Burgess would come in third with a time of 12.81 seconds. In the 200m, Faith Lee would place second behind Weatherly with a time of 25.81 seconds.
Faith Lee would also win the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.99 seconds.
Giovanna Machado won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.86. Kaite Spence placed third in the 1500m finals with a time of 5:20.19.
The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Mar. 19) when they travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C to compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Live coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com.
