7-0 Sweep of Columbia College get the Roehner Era Started

Columbia, S.C.: Coker got their season underway today as they traveled to Columbia, S.C. to take on the Columbia College Koalas.

Performances:

• Doubles

  • 1st Doubles was Ilona Hernandez-Sanchez and Noelle D'Angelillo. The pair made their first Coker Appearance as a Duo and won in style with a 6-1 win.

  • 2nd Doubles was returners Salomé Sierra and Caroline Myers. The Duo picked up where they left off last year, starting their senior season with a doubles win 6-0.

  • The 3rd Doubles pairing featured two mid-year transfers, Andreia Semeano and Mia Islambasic. The pair got their Coker careers started right with a 6-0 win to sweep the doubles point for the Cobras.

• Singles

  • Ilona Hernandez-Sanchez was penciled in at 1st Singles for today Match. She won in a 2-setter 6-2, 6-0

  • Salomé Sierra played 2nd singles for the Cobras today. Sierra won her match with a double bagel (6-0,6-0)

  • Noelle D'Angelillo played 3rd singles today. D'Angelillo started her Cobra career off right, winning 6-0, 6-0.

  • Caroline Myers took up the 4th singles spot against the Koalas. In her first set, she won 6-0. Myers won her second set with a score of 6-1.

  • Andreia Semeano slotted in at 5th singles for the Cobras. He Coker's debut was a dream as she won 6-0, 6-2

  • Mia Islambasic played 6th singles today. Islambasic started her collegiate career with a 6-3, 6-1 straight set win to complete the 7-0 sweep for the Cobras.
