Coker announced the promotion of Noah Korenoski to Head Wrestling Coach after serving as the program’s Graduate Assistant Coach for the past two seasons.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker University and Vice President for Athletics and Facilities Lynn Griffin have announced the promotion of Noah Korenoski to Head Wrestling Coach after serving as the program's Graduate Assistant Coach for the past two seasons.
Korenoski has played an integral role in the development of the program during his time on staff, bringing leadership, passion, and a strong competitive background to the mat every day. His commitment to student-athlete success, both academically and athletically, made him the clear choice to lead the program moving forward.
"Noah has demonstrated tremendous dedication to our student-athletes and our wrestling program over the last two years," said Griffin. "His experience as both a successful collegiate wrestler and coach, combined with the relationships he has built within our program, make him an outstanding fit to lead Coker Wrestling into the future."
Before beginning his coaching career, Korenoski built an impressive collegiate wrestling résumé. He spent two seasons at Garrett College, where he was a two-time National Qualifier and two-time Academic All-American. During his sophomore campaign, he finished among the top 12 wrestlers in the country and captured a Gulf Atlantic District Championship.
Korenoski then continued his collegiate career at Coker University, competing for three seasons and cementing himself among the program's top wrestlers. He currently ranks tied for third all-time in career wins at Coker with 51 victories. During his time with the Cobras, Korenoski earned Academic All-American honors twice and placed fifth at the regional national qualifying tournament in two separate seasons.
"I'm incredibly grateful to Coker University and Lynn Griffin for this opportunity," said Korenoski. "Over the past two years, I've developed a strong connection with our student-athletes and our wrestling family. I'm excited to continue building a culture centered around hard work, accountability, and success both on and off the mat."
Prior to his collegiate career, Korenoski established himself as one of the top wrestlers in Pennsylvania, one of the nation's premier high school wrestling states. Competing at Westmont Hilltop High School in Johnstown, Pa., he compiled 111 career victories, including 50 wins by fall. He also qualified for the PIAA State Championships and finished among the top 12 wrestlers in the state during his senior season.
