Cobras in Twelfth After Day One of Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge
Amber Harman led the way for the Coker women in the first day of competition at the Wingate Invitational.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker College women's golf team is in 12th place after the first 18 holes of play on Monday (Mar. 23) at the Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge. The ladies shot an opening round team score of 339.
Amber Harman and Angela Luna led the way for the Navy and Yellow. Harman fired an opening round of 79 and is tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard. Luna was not far behind signing off on an 81 on day one. She is in a tie for 17th place. Taylor Demby carded an 85 in her first 18 holes. Tensley Clowser and Taylor Gaskins rounded things out for the traveling five with rounds of 94 and 96.
King University is atop the team leaderboard after an opening round team score of 317. Caitlin Starrs of Wingate University is the individual overnight leader after shooting a 75 on day one.
Tee times for the second round will begin tomorrow (Mar. 24)morning at the Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation.
