HARTSVILLE, S.C. - After guiding Coker University to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight run and the program's first South Atlantic Conference Tournament title, Melissa DeVore has been named head women's basketball coach at Stetson University.
DeVore heads to DeLand after six seasons leading the Cobras, where she compiled a 96-72 overall record and engineered one of the most successful stretches in program history. Over the past two seasons, Coker posted a 55-13 overall mark and a 37-9 conference record, winning 81 percent of its games during that span.
In 2025, DeVore was named SAC Coach of the Year after leading the Cobras to the conference regular-season title, a school-record 29 victories, and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight. In 2026, Coker captured the SAC Tournament championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
DeVore graduated from Limestone University in 2007, where she was an all-conference and record-setting point guard. Prior to Limestone, she was a two-time conference MVP at Danville Area Community College. She later earned a master's degree from Charleston Southern University in 2021.
DeVore began her coaching career as an assistant at Limestone, helping guide the Saints to seven conference tournament titles in eight seasons. During her tenure, Limestone posted a 304-123 record and made eight NCAA Tournament appearances.
