Coker's Cabral and Hansen Named to Off the Block All-Independent Team
Coker men's volleyball players Artur Cabral and Luke Hansen have been named to the inaugural Off The Block All-Independent Volleyball Team.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker men's volleyball team members Artur Cabral and Luke Hansen have been named to the inaugural Off the Block All-Independent Team, the media outlet announced today. Cabral was selected as an opposite, while Hansen was tabbed an outside attacker on the eight-member team.
Cabral, a right side from Maceio, Brazil, had one of the most historic seasons in Coker history. The sophomore played in all 28 of Coker's matches and broke four single-season records, including kills (367), kills per set (3.90), service aces (50) and block assist (56). He also broke the single-match records for kills (24) and service aces (6) during his breakout sophomore campaign. Cabral finished the season ranked second in all of NCAA Division I and II with a .53 aces per set average.
Artur is a computer science major and the son of Wladia Bessa and Helio Cabral, Jr.
Hansen, a junior outside, was spectacular for the Cobras in the 27 matches he saw action. He finished second on the team with 228 kills and 2.48 kills per set average. He led the team with 124 digs, while also knocking home 32 service aces. Hansen finished the regular season ranked 31st in all of Division I and II with a .36 aces per set average.
Luke is an exercise science major from Las Vegas, Nev. He is the son of Nancy and Duane Hansen.

The Off the Block All-Independent Team honors the top men's volleyball players on teams in NCAA Division I-II or transitioning to NCAA Division I-II that competed as independents without a conference this season. Similar to an all-conference team, the All-Independent Team recognizes outstanding individual performances during the regular season.
