Hudson Leads Men’s Track & Field with Breakthrough Performance at USC Invitational
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Coker University men's track and field team delivered several standout performances at the USC Invitational, highlighted by a personal-record performance from sophomore Kamari Hudson and strong finishes in sprint and distance events.
Hudson led the Cobras in the men's 60-meter dash, posting a personal-best time of 6.92 seconds in the preliminary round to advance to the semifinals, where he recorded a time of 6.93 seconds against a competitive field. His performance marked one of the top sprint efforts of the season for Coker and demonstrated his continued progression as one of the team's premier sprinters.
SeniorDonovan Jones also contributed in the 60-meter dash, finishing with a time of 7.02 seconds, while Ricardo Nuevo-Serrano recorded a time of 7.39 seconds in the preliminary round.
In the 200-meter dash, sophomore Juelz Mickles led Coker with a time of 21.95 seconds, placing him among the top performers in a deep field. Nuevo-Serrano added another sprint performance in the event, finishing in 24.02 seconds.
Freshman Wesley Jones represented Coker in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 52.21 seconds, while the distance group was led by freshman Nathan Allen, who finished the 800-meter run in 1:59.39. Teammate Quinn Koumas followed with a time of 2:03.19, and Phillip Davis completed the event in 2:06.14.
The Cobras also saw strong representation in distance events, showcasing continued development among the program's younger athletes.
