Cobras Fall to No. 20 Bulldogs in SAC Quarterfinals
The Coker men's soccer season came to an end with a 3-1 loss to the No. 20 Wingate Bulldogs on Tuesday (Nov. 4) in the quarterfinals of the SAC Men's Soccer Championship.

WINGATE, N.C. – The Coker men's soccer season came to an end on Tuesday (Nov. 4) evening with a 3-1 loss to the No. 20 Wingate Bulldogs in the quarterfinals of the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship.
It was a tightly contested and physical match from start to finish with 38 total fouls called and 20 shots taken by both teams. Wingate held a narrow 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
After the break the Bulldogs came out on the attack and quickly scored two goals to take the 3-0 lead. The score remained unchanged until Matt Taylor scored Coker's lone goal in the 85th minute. Taylor found the back of the net with a shot just outside the 18-yard box on a free kick, for a 3-1 final.
Kyndle Cobb and Michael Ritterbeck combined for five saves in the net and as a team Coker fired eight shots.
