Coker Men’s Golf in Thirteenth After Day One of Kiawah Invitational
The Coker men's golf team is in 13th place after the opening round of the Kiawah Island Invitational.
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker College men's golf team finished day one of the Kiawah Island Invitational in a tie for 13th place with an 18-hole team total of 298 (+10).
Leading the way for the Cobras was junior transfer John Duke who shot a 1-under 71 in his Coker debut. Duke's stellar first round leaves him in a tie for 13th individually. Sophomore Will Bundy and freshman Alex Rios both fired rounds of 75 (+3). Freshman Jonathon Sundstrom carded a 77 (+5) and rounding out the lineup was junior Blake Baysden, who signed off for an 82 (+10).
Erskine College and Flagler College are atop the leaderboard after round one with team totals of 283 (-5). Armstrong Atlantic's Cory Griffin is in the individual lead after an opening 67 (-5).
Round two will begin tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Cougar Point Golf Club on Kiawah Island.
