Coker Men's Golf in Eighth After Day One At Kiawah Islanad Invite.
Lead by Christopher Fuga in round one, the Cobras are in eighth place at the Kiawah Island Invitational.
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker men's golf team is in eighth place after round one of the Kiawah Island Invitational. The group finished only five over par with a team total of 293.
Christopher Fuga is currently tied for first place for individual stroke play, after shooting an impressive 67 (-5) during round one. Fuga was just three strokes shy of tying the course record at 64, set by Coker's own Christopher Marsh in the 2008-09 season.
Matt Kreider shot the second lowest round of the day for the Cobras, finishing just two over par with a 74. Josh Clay was right behind with a 75, followed by Aaron Beebe with a 77. Rounding out the field for Coker was Andrew Taske who shot a 79.
Coker will looking to close the gap on the lead position in the 17-team tournament tomorrow in the final round.
