Cobra Men in 11th After First Round of Bearcat Classic
The Coker men's golf team is in 11th place after the first round of play at the Bearcat Golf Classic hosted by Lander University.
GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Coker men's golf team is in 11th place after the opening round of the Bearcat Golf Classic on Monday. The Cobras shot 301 (+13), putting them 13 shots off the lead held Georgia College and State (288). USC-Aiken sits in second at 290 (+2) and Columbus State is third at 295 (+7).
Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) leads the field for the Cobras. He is tied for 11th with an opening round 73 (+1). Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) carded a 75 (+3), with Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) firing a 76 (+4). Diego Polo (Guatemala) shot a five-over-par 77 and Christopher Fuga (Phoenixville, Pa.) shot a 79 (+7).
The Cobras will finish up play on the par-72, 6,800 yard course on Tuesday starting at 8 a.m.
