Cobras Rally in the 8th, but Fall to Mount Olive
The Coker University baseball team rallied from four runs down to tie the game in the eighth inning, but eventually fell to visiting Mount Olive 7-5 on Tuesday evening at Tom J. New Field at Dave Schmotzer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first inning when Luke Peterson singled home Mathew Lipcsey.
Mount Olive answered with the next five runs of the game, scoring twice in the top of the second inning and adding three more in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead.
The Cobras mounted a rally in the bottom of the eighth inning. Nicholas Badillo drew a leadoff walk, and Gavin Johnson followed with a walk of his own with one out. Gavin Edens then singled to shallow center to load the bases. Colton Penner was hit by a pitch for the third time in the game, advancing everyone and allowing pinch runner Adam Lipcsey to score. Fabio Marquez drew a two-out walk to bring home Johnson. Rocco Wojcik then looped a double down the left field line that plated Penner and Edens, knotting the score at 5-5.
UMO responded with a two-run double in the top of the ninth inning and then retired Coker in order in the bottom half to secure the victory.

Coker hits the road for a midweek game at UCS Aiken tomorrow (Wednesday). First pitch is scheduled for 3PM and can be viewed on the Peach Belt Conference Network.
