2016-2017: Back made seven apperances as a freshman, pitching to a 9.82 earned run average. In 11.0 innings, the southpaw allowed 12 earned runs on 15 hits. He also walked and struck out six apiece.

High School: Back attended Beavercreek High School where he was a two-sport athlete for the Beavers, lettering in basketball and baseball for all four years. On the diamond, he was a first team all-conference selection his junior and senior years and a second team all-Dayton area selection as a junior and first team all-Dayton selection as a senior.  He was also named all-Ohio special mention by Prep Baseball Report as a senior.  He played in the Miami Valley Coaches Association All Star game in 2015 as well. 

Personal: He is the son of Jenny and Charlie Back... he has two siblings Madison and Tyler... his father Charlie played basketball at Sinclair College.
