Coker Drops Series Opener at Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker Cobra baseball team dropped the opening game of its South Atlantic Conference series on the road to the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears on Saturday (Mar. 14) night by a score of 16-8.
Miguel Frias led the Cobras at the plate going 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. Michael Orlowski and Jack Leech also drove in runs for the Cobras; both players finished the game 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Dallas Baldwin (2-3) suffered the loss on the mound. He allowed nine runs on seven hits in two-thirds of an inning of work.
The Cobras and the Bears will conclude their three-game series on Sunday (Mar. 15) with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Lenoir-Rhyne's Bears Field.
