Acrobatics and Tumbling Hosts First Official Meet

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University acrobatics and tumbling team hosted their first ever official Conference Carolinas meet on Sunday (Feb. 13). The Cobras fell to defending conference champions Converse College by a score of 265.285-244.510.

Coker began the meet by recording a score of 36.650 in the compulsory events and a 25.550 in the acro portion of the meet. They would then post a solid score of 26.900 in the pyramid heats and added a total of 24.050 in the toss heats.

The Cobras racked up a 48.800 in the six heat tumbling event and wrapped up the meet by putting down a routine good enough for 82.560, which brought their meet total score to 244.510. Coker performed admirably in their first official meet, despite having to take on the toughest competition that Conference Carolinas has to offer.

The Cobras will be back in action on the mats Saturday (Feb. 19) when they host Conference Carolinas foe Belmont-Abbey at the Deloach Center. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m. with live video available at www.cokercobras.com.
