Cobra Spotlights
The "Cobra Spotlights" is a weekly highlight of student-athletes at Coker College. Each week we take a look at different athletes from different sports and display some facets to get more familiar with them. Wrestling

• This week’s matches:
  • Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Anderson
• Last week’s matches:
  • UNC Pembroke (L) – 19-18
• The Cobras hit the road to Anderson for their final regular season match of the year on Wednesday. Coker is 13-3 in dual matches this season, having won nine of its last 11.

Women’s Basketball

• This week’s games:
  • Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. (H) – Lenoir-Rhyne – Play 4 Kay – Pink Game
  • Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (A) – Tusculum
• Last week’s games:
  • Queens (W) – 55-52
  • #19 Anderson (L) – 76-46
• The Coker women went 1-1 last week with a 55-52 win over Queens. This week the Cobras will play host to Lenoir-Rhyne in its annual Play 4 Kay Breast Cancer Awareness game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game. All proceeds from the game will go to the Play 4 Kay Foundation.

Men’s Basketball

• This week’s games:
  • Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. (H) – Lenoir-Rhyne
  • Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (A) – Tusculum
• Last week’s games:
  • #13 Queens (L) – 79-68
  • Anderson (W) – 72-62
• Last week, Coker went 1-1 with a 72-62 win over Anderson. This week the Cobras will welcome the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne Wednesday and then hit the road to Tusculum on Saturday.  

Men’s Volleyball

• This week’s games:
  • Friday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – George Mason
• Last week’s games:
  • Bluefield (W) – 3-1 (25-16, 25-12, 25-27, 25-15)
• After picking up a 3-1 win over Bluefield College last week, the Cobra men’s volleyball team will hit the road to take on NCAA Division I George Mason University on Friday.

Baseball

• This week’s games:
  • Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (H) – Paine
  • Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. (H) – St. Augustine’s
  • Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (H) – Saint Rose (DH)
  • Sunday at 11:00 p.m. (H) – Saint Rose
• Last week’s games:
  • St. Andrews – 11-3 (W)
  • Chowan – 6-0 (W), 6-3 (W), 7-3 (L), 7-3 (W)
• The Cobra baseball team went 4-1 last week with wins over St. Andrews and Chowan. This week the Cobras will welcome Paine, St. Augustine’s and Saint Rose to Hartsville for five non-conference games.

Men’s and Women’s Tennis

• This week’s matches:
  • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Mars Hill
• Last week’s matches:
  • Augusta – Women – 6-3 (L), Men – 7-2 (L)
  • USC Aiken – Women – 6-3 (L), Men – 7-2 (L)
• This week the Coker tennis teams will welcome Mars Hill to town for a pair of South Atlantic Conference matches.

Softball

• This week’s games:
  • Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – UNC Pembroke (DH)
  • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Southern Wesleyan (DH)
  • Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – USC Aiken (DH)
• Last week’s games:
  • St. Andrews – 8-0 (W), 14-2 (W)
  • Converse – 11-3 (W), 11-3 (W)
• The Cobra softball team went 4-0 to start the season last week. This week Coker will play host to UNC Pembroke on Wednesday, Southern Wesleyan on Saturday and USC Aiken on Sunday.  

Men's Lacrosse

• This week’s games:
  • Friday at 3:00 p.m. (H) – Rollins
• Last week’s games:
  • None
• The Coker men's lacrosse team opens its 2016 season this week when they host the Rollins Tars in a non-conference game on Friday. Coker will play all of their home games at the Coker Athletic Field this season.
