HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker baseball team was unable to come away with a win on Wednesday afternoon in a rain soaked game against Alderson-Broaddus College losing 11-10. The Cobras led 9-4 entering the fourth inning, but were shut down by the Battlers reliever Ronnie Whitt and the A-B bats came alive giving the Battlers the eventual win.

WILSON, N.C. – The Coker golf team dropped four strokes and improved one spot to finish in a tie for fourth place at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Barton Intercollegiate Golf Tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The Cobras tied fellow Conference Carolinas opponent, Queens University of Charlotte, for fourth place with a team score of 592 (+16). Taking home the team title was Flagler College, followed by Barton College and then UNC-Pembroke.

WILSON, N.C. – The Cobra golf team is in fifth place after the first round of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Barton College Intercollegiate at 6,851-yard, par-72 Wilson Country Club. Coker shot a team score of 298 (+10) and is just eight shots back of the leader Flagler College 290 (+2). Rounding out the top five are host Barton College 293 (+5), UNC-Pembroke 296 (+8), Queens University of Charlotte 297 (+9) and Coker.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras and Clarion Golden Eagles met in a non-conference game on Monday afternoon with the Cobras taking home the 12-4 win. The victory gives Coker a 9-2 record when playing at Tom J. New Field. On the year Coker is 12-10, while the loss drops Clarion to 1-2 in their young season.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Lady Cobras softball team fell to Lincoln Memorial University 1-0 and to Catawba College 6-3 on Sunday in their final day of play at the Mid-South Classic in Spartanburg, S.C. The losses drop Coker to 5-8 on the year and give them a 1-4 record on the weekend.

Baseball: Abbey Captures Series Win with 5-4 Victory Over Coker http://cokercobras.athleticsite.com/article.asp?articleID=2010

BELMONT, N.C. - Belmont Abbey sophomore first baseman Danny Brion capped a five run Abbey comeback with a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh, and sophomore pitcher Nate Cudney held Coker to just two hits while striking out eight in seven innings of relief as the Cobras dropped their Conference Carolinas series with Belmont Abbey thanks to a 5-4 victory Abbey win in the rubber game of a three-game series. The Abbey moves to 10-9 overall and finishes its home Conference Carolinas schedule with an 8-3 mark, while Coker falls to 11-10 overall and 5-7 in Conference Carolinas.
