MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Katie McElveen (Hartsville, S.C. ) and April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) combined for 13 kills as the Cobra volleyball team shut out the Trojans of Mount Olive 3-0 in a Conference Carolinas match on Tuesday night. Coker won with scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 27-25.
The win improves the Cobras to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
McElveen led the attack with seven kills and a pair of aces, while Griggs had six kills and two blocks. Samantha Celek (Charleston, S.C.) handed out 11 assists with nine digs and Kelly Stine (Fort Collins, Colo.) had 17 assists and three blocks.
The Cobras will be back on the court on Friday night at home against Lenoir-Rhyne in a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
